Oasis Idea Weekly

May 30, 2018
How to Create Amazing Fresh Flower Couture
Designing amazing fresh flower couture for display or to wear?

This week's edition of IDEA Weekly looks at the challenges in creating captivating floral couture looks, including weight, size, placement, water source, secure mechanics and flower choices along with the benefits of participating in large-scale public floral events.
To help with the solutions, Vancouver designers Paul Jaras AIFD and Brenna Quan AIFD share their tips and lessons learned from participating in the recent Fleurs de Ville Spring 2018 Mannequin Series Cross Canada Tour floral couture exhibition at the Metropolis at Metrotown, the largest shopping mall in British Columbia with more than 400 stores.

One payoff for these fresh flower couture designers? Watching amazed crowds wander through an exhibition of fresh flower skirts and dresses, hats, hoods, bathing suits and boas they helped create.

For you, it's insight into how to adapt mechanics for new challenges along with photos of their finished designs. Just click the above or green button below.
