Floral Fundamentals goes to RHS Chelsea Flower Show

Described as a dream come true by some of the team, Floral Fundamentals have been accepted to exhibit in the prestigious Great Pavilion at the 2018 RHS Chelsea Flower Show. This world-famous event attracts thousands of visitors and legions of Press every year so Floral Fundamentals see this as a perfect opportunity to showcase the wonderful flowers, foliage and plants which their Partners produce combined with the talents of a team of multi-award winning florists. |

The concept reflects the essence of Floral Fundamentals with an outer ring showing a ‘field’ of foliage and flowers combined with seeds to reflect the outdoors growers. Uprights will be constructed to represent the glasshouse growers with suspended domes of flowers with root trails. This very large exhibit allows visitors to literally walk over bulbs into the central ‘selfie’ area where the florists will work with over 4,000 flower heads and cascading Phalaenopsis orchids to create a massive column. This will encourage visitors to literally get up close to see how special the flowers are. The logistics of gathering the flowers, foliage and plants and transporting them to the London showground is a massive challenge as offloading times are literally timed to the minute! |

The design team of Ambassadors is led by London-based florist Morgan Douglas Nuth who is the reason that we are being allowed to take part. The other Ambassadors are Laura Leong (UK), Hans Zijlstra (The Netherlands), Jimmy Englund (Sweden), Elisabeth Schoenemann (Germany), Agna Maertens (Belgium), Mariann Holmen (Norway) and Stefan Van Berlo (Belgium) with Sue Phillips (UK) editor of the free Floral Fundamentals digital magazine ensuring lots of build-up photography so that Partners can see what happened to their precious flowers and plants. This project shows just what can be achieved when florists, growers and producers work together – how exciting is that! |
