I ask each student in the Explore Floral Design class to evalute the class and myself...I am always looking for ways to improve what and how I teach floral artistry.
These ladies were in the 12 week 2- evening class of EFD. They worked so hard and did have so much FUN, as I did. The reward of sharing what you love is seeing the spark and passion it ignites in the students....this make me smile. As I always acknowledge...I was given a great gift of working and learning from Mr. Bill Harper AIFD...the best!
And now I share this floral passion....
The students give you great insight into this 12 week class. Enjoy what they have to say, thank you ladies for taking the time to answer these questions!!
*Please tell me about your experience:
Maggie: I really enjoyed the class because it gave me a chance to explore my creativity with flowers but also provided structure that taught me about design and designing for specific events/occasions.
Claudia: Really enjoyed leatning about the day to day reality of running a flower shop-amazed at the skill, creativity and variety required.
Pat: Awesome! Totally out of my realm of education but I learned so much I can scarcely take it all in. But its a good anxiousness. I am so happy to have had this opportunity Christina to have you as an instructor.
Opening up a floral shop is a little frightening to me, but you have given me good basic tools to begin with. If I didn't live 3.5 hours away I would take every class you could proivide. I am hoping I can do at least another class with you. Thank you for your unwavering patience and guidance. Your flowers were beautiful.
Did the class hit the mark for you? Did it miss the mark?
Maggie: Deffinately hit the mark. I found it very informative & provided even more infoormation then I could hope for and was a lot of FUN!
Claudia:Definately hit the mark! I learned so much and gained a whole array of new skills (now for the practice!!)
Pat: The class provided me with the basics of flower design with lots of extra tips. It is difficult to get it all down in a night or an hour and a hlf. I , muself could have used maybe more time on certain designs, but hopefully I can pick up another class or two.
It's a lot of information in the amount of time we have & you did a fantastic job-
*Did the cost of class = the value?
Maggie: Yes, it provided both design and the business information that I was looking for.
Claudia: Great value for money- I worried that you wern't making money after the cost of buying all those amazing flowers!!
Pat: YES-
*What was the best day of class for you?
Maggie: I really enjoyed Tropicals because I felt like I was really beginning to get a handle on my designs skills by then & the tropical flowers were vibrant and very fun to work with. I also enjoyed "business week" because it gave me a lot of insight into the day to day operations of a floral business.
Claudia: I enjoyed the business day and also the foam arrangements and hand tied bouquets. I enjoyed having to work to time challenges set on a number of occassions.
Pat: I didn't have a "best day" I sincerely enjoyed every class. I always looked forward to the next design.
* What was the most challenging day of class?
Maggie: Funeral work was the hardest for me because there were many insertions & the placements of the insertions was also new. Specifically, I thought casket sprays were most challenging.
Claudia: I found the floral jewelery class quite a challenge, especially trying to design a floral necklace! It also took a bit to get my head around hand tied bouquets and I have yet to really master ribbon making!!
Pat: Wedding bouquets, jewelry.
*Write a review:
Maggie: Explore Floral Design is a great class for begginners looking for insight into the floral industry, design and business. Christins is an excellent teacher full of knowledge and helpful advise. This class is an excellent investment in your floral education.
Claudia: "Christina is a fount of knowledge when it comes to all things floral. She is an incredibly gifted teacher who is passionate about passing on her knowledge and learning. This was a "hands-on" class with lots of time to learn, practice and create- Christina was great at offering tips and advice always encouraging and maintaing a good sense of humor!"
Pat: Christina, thank you for a wonderful learning experience. Before signing up for classes Dyana talked to other florists in the Kansas City area. They had nothing but praise for your program.
I learned so much about color, texture, designing, not just how to put flowers in a vase. Thank you for encouraging us to experiment & create. Your critiques were always positive, helpful an appreciated.
The flowers were always beautiful. Your classroom showed quality, class and a lot of thought was put into every detail fo your program. Kansas City and the surrounding area is lucky to have a program such as this.
Thanks again for such a great learning experience. Pat
