March Marketing Tip

Utilizing Spreadsheets to Analyze Profit
By Jenny Thomasson AIFD PFCI, CFD

Getting a fresh start on a new year is a great time to look at progress in our businesses. Consider coming up with a process to show the profit you make in your event business. Let yourself know how successful it is (or isn't) for the time and money that you put out to accommodate your clients.

We have always had recipes for our events, ordering using those and staying in line with our costs. This year we are utilizing spreadsheets to look at cost after the events are done thus giving us a total profit on each. Knowing that sometimes when the weekend has passed and the party is over we don't necessarily look back at those specifics. This method has proven worth while for us so far and eye opening to everything that goes into providing large scale design.
