Beautiful Hand Tied Fresh Spring Wreath

Hand Tied fresh spring wreath....Beautiful design Doris!!

This design of fresh foliages will dry naturally and have a life of 3-6 months.  It can be placed outdoors in a protected area or indoors for a faster drying process.  This student has plans to enhance the wreath with stick in items to change it up a bit over the next few weeks.

This is a combination of salal, seeded eucalyptus, bay leaf laurel and boxwood.  With fresh curly willow tips, all hand tied to a wire wreath frame with wax string.

Flowers to wear....look at what we have created in the classroom

These flowers to wear designs were created by beginner students and some as smaples for design inspiration.  We didn't take these over the top with extra bling or other design elements....

But watch for a few that I have created and other designers... for that customer looking for a more over the top design.

Don't forget the flowers to wear workshop March 11th....3- 2 hour design session to join...everythingis provided....3+ designs will be created in class.

Flower rings are a big trend and an easy upsell to girls looking for that perfect signature flower for Prom.  We will create flower rings in the workshop.

Head bands, flower wreaths for brides...oversized, garden fairy like or just simply BEAUTIFUL!!
Create one in the workshop!

Matching Ring and Wristlet...samples I created for design inspiration...wearable...I wore this all day in class...great mechanics will provide designs that will withstand and evening of dancing, and just plain old FUN!

Create signature flowers for these young adults and you are gaining a customer for the future....a wonderful investment in yourself, that translates to a design that will be talked about all evening of Prom.

March Marketing Tip
Build Your Business With a Contest
By Stacy Carlton AIFD, CFD

Contest Marketing is a powerful but under used tool in our industry. Hosting a photo contest on Instagram is relatively easy and will increase your social media viewership. There are so many ways to host a contest. Here are three options to get you started.
  1. Invite your followers to post a photo taken in your shop or studio, at an event or class you present, or of something you have created. Create a hashtag for the contest and follow along.
  2. "Submit your vote" photo contests are easy to enter (just click a button!) and loyal customers will recruit friends and family to vote for their photo.
  3. The easiest of the three photo contest approaches is the "caption the photo" contest where viewers caption a photo that you share. The best caption wins a service that you provide or something beautiful that you create.
A follow-up post or a blog covering the contest results will generate even more buzz!

How long should FLOWERS last??

It truly isn't your fault that flowers are not lasting long enough...  Learn all the tips & tricks to keeping FLOWERS fresh in your home.

I share it all with you in class...but here is one tip:

FLOWERS love FLOWER "food" formulated for FLOWERS.  Not home remedies!!!

Use your FLOWER FOOD packet, properly proportioned with tepid water to nourish your FLOWERS.

Add this water daily to your flowers and they will be happy :)   This water will keep for a couple weeks.

Re-cut stems under water to insure water intake for proper sturgid stems.
