SAME DATES, NEW YEAR

The Slow Flowers Summit has been rescheduled for June 28-30, 2021. Your ticket has already been transferred to the 2021 Slow Flowers Summit at Filoli Historic House & Garden in Woodside, California. We'll see you then and there!

Greetings, Slow Flowers Summit friends!

We have been working tirelessly for nearly a year to adapt to the ever-changing environment of holding an event during a global pandemic. Thank you for everyone's continued support, including Filoli, our guests, speakers, and sponsors. Our presenting partner, Filoli Historic House & Garden, is a fantastic venue and host. We've been working closely with the Filoli horticulture and events team to plan for a Slow Flowers Summit 2021 that ensures your safety is top priority. This month's newsletter outlines our 2021 Ticket Policy:

THE 2021 PLAN

The Slow Flowers Summit will be a live, in-person conference with all originally announced programming in June. We're taking the conference outside to the beautiful grounds at Filoli Historic House & Garden to allow for fresh California air and physical distancing. We are working with our catering partner to ensure food and drinks are served in a safe way for each individual.

REFUND POLICY

That said, we anticipate fewer than expected in-person attendees. Current ticket holders who are unable to attend in person are being offered a partial refund of $170 off the original amount of their Summit ticket purchase.

Videos of the in-person programming, including keynote by Susan Mcleary, newly added speakers Abra Lee and Max Gill, and capstone presentation by Jennifer Jewell, will be professionally recorded and provided after the event to those who are unable to attend live. It's the next-best thing to joining us in person -- and we have some special things planned for those of you who are unable to attend in person, including an online reception during the Summit, a gift package that will be mailed, and more!

Requests for a $170 refund amount can be made by emailing karen@slowflowers.comand must be requested by May 24, 2021. The $170 refund will be applied to the payment method used for the original ticket purchase. We understand all of us have unique situations, so please contact us with any questions or needs regarding your ticket.

TICKET TRANSFERS

For those of you wishing to transfer their ticket to another person instead, we encourage you to post your request to the Slow Flowers Society Facebook page and community, and the Slow Flowers Summit private Facebook group (someone may want to bring a friend!).
You are responsible for finding a buyer for your ticket, although we are happy to add your name to a list of sellers that we'll share with anyone who contacts us directly. Reach out to us at hello@slowflowers.com.

Ticket Policy

No full refunds or cancellations.

Partial refund in the amount of $170 may be requested by emailing karen@slowflowers.com by May 24, 2021.

by appointment....take the class 2-3 days in a row for 4-6 weeks, 12 consecutive days, or schedule 1 day for 12 months. We create together your time frame to learn floral design.

$4,800.00

A (re-fresh)new Products, containers, techniques & supplies to work and learn with. You will create a minimum of 45+ designs in these 12 days. All designs are yours daily to take home.

* Business Day add on day/class $ 150.00 ( good for students opening a home floral studio, flower shop, special event specialist).

I was looking for a refresher floral design class, where I could build on the skills I learned years ago and learn new skills, and that’s exactly what I found. Christina is a talented and knowledgeable floral artist and instructor who presents a well prepared curriculum. I was pleased with the abundance and variety of flowers we were given to work with, the tools we were given and the pleasantness of the classroom. The 12 day class I took is not an easy workshop style course. I was challenged and at times discouraged, but I learned so much and was delighted with many of the designs I was able to make with Christina’s instruction and guidance. She won’t let you off easy, and even asked a classmate to throw her design in the trash and start over(!) but I liked that, because I was there to learn and learn I did! She sometimes questioned my choices and placements when I was headed the wrong directions with a design but she didn’t give up on me or my designs. I also learned a great deal about the marketing and business side of the profession. I believe with hard work and ongoing practice this class could prepare a student like me to work in the floral industry. I have gained a connection with a world-known floral artist who is willing to offer ideas and advice in the future. I have benefited greatly from the resources Christina shared with us in the form of websites, email lists, floral design books and connections with wholesale houses. I would love to go back someday and take some of the specialized design classes she offers. The class was worth my time, effort and money. I would highly recommend it. Receiving my completion certificate at the end was very rewarding for me!
The flower classroom is a place to study serious floral design in a fun relaxed atmosphere. It is for those who want to become a professional florist to for those who just want to improve their designs for personal use. Tammy Ivy

Anyone wanting to learn about floral design should enroll in the "explore floral design" series of classes. Christina's "Explore Floral Design " classes cover every aspect of floral design from the proper handling of fresh floral materials, the materials used in floral design,color and design theory,the mechanics of floral design as well as the "business of floral design. The course content is well organized. The studio setting is pleasant with more than adequate space and equipment. Christina supplies the clases with a wide variety of materials for studetn use. Group instruction is enhanced with a one-on-one guidance as needed. If you have an interest in floral design, you'll be glad you enrolled. Beth Ball

Explore Floral Design class was wonderful. If you want to learn about designing flowers this class is a must. Christina breaks the content up into very managable pieces & continues to give suggestions on techniques to embelish your design.
